You know your life has begun when you have something to go to therapy for. Welcome to just another trivial story of another twenty, ahem, nearly thirtysomething.

well, nina the slacker is back online. (sorry for the lapse) Life gets busy in fits and bursts. I just had a burst. Two more weeks until spring break..Can you believe how fast the time flies? We are already two weeks into war. I have been listening to this Joni Mitchell song constantly, it's at the end of my cd and the neighbors probably hate me for keeping it on repeat.
And so once again, my dear Johnny my dear friend
And so once again, we are fighting them all
And when i ask you why, you raise your fists and cry and I fall "oh my friend, how did it come to trade the fiddle for the drum?"

You say we have turned like the enemies you've earned, but we can remember all the good things you are.
And so I ask you "Please, can you help me find the peace?" And you cry. "Oh my friend how did it come to trade the fiddle for the drum?"

The funny thing about the peace corps is that it has made me appreciate every little blessed thing about America. We live in a comfort zone that many of us take for granted. One of my kids asked me, "So in America you never really have to worry about food?" No personally i never have. But still there are some that have. I read this article about Pembroke and Kankakee County Illinois in my class. It sounded like a profile on poverty in Romania. 90% of the kids in this county qualify for a free school lunch. THere are people living without running water and electricity. Today we spend a gagillion dollars on defense, blowing away another country's terrible regime and we cannot even feed ourselves. I didn't mean to get up on the soap box but I was just thinking about how much there is to do when I get home.
ps. spring is here in all her glory. The bulbs have popped through the ground and leaves have all sprouted. The world is beginning to be green again and best of all the sun is out and her curfew was extended till almost seven.
